Release Details: The Packer x New Balance 992Release: 12 September 2020
Following a relatively short teaser cycle, Packer Shoes have announced the release details for their tasty New Balance 992 collaboration. The story is simple: the M992PK1 celebrates NB’s premier Made in USA model and the craftsmanship behind it.
Using the 992’s standard configuration of suede, mesh, pebbled leather, and reflective inserts, Packer opt for the very tasty combo of butterscotch brown and pale beige. It’s a very balanced execution, with a couple of grey accents referencing the OG colourway.
Packer have teamed with Queens-based artist Michael C. Thorpe to highlight the dedication and creativity required to make beautiful artwork and sneakers alike.

Packer is proud to present the M992PK1, a celebration of New Balance's Made in USA craftsmanship and all those who get their hands dirty to make the world a more beautiful place. To bring that idea to life, we’re highlighting Michael C. Thorpe, a Boston-bred artist now working out of Queens, who has carved a unique lane in the art world through his intricate quilted visions which have been featured in solo exhibitions and shown in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Michael embodies the idea that it’s not just about the finished piece of art, but all the sweat and toil that goes into making it a reality. The M992PK1 aims to balance those two aesthetics in harmony, built on the belief that the process can be as exquisite as the fruits of that labor. Available 11am EST Saturday, September 12th, only at PackerShoes.com ($240, size 5-13). Photography by @airjordank
As for the release? They’re dropping exclusively at Packer on September 12. Most excitingly, they’ll be available in a full size run from size 5 to 13!
