The Nike Xarr is Ready for Both Thunderstorms and Desert StormRelease: 21 October 2019
There is something very utilitarian about Nike’s latest model that looks closer to army-issue footwear than classic sneakers. A mix of olive leather, suede and ballistic nylon definitely recalls military boots, and the lack of Swoosh builds a strong case.
However, take a closer look, and some clear influences from Nike’s back catalogue come through. The overall silhouette and toebox screams Air Force 1. Even the platform-style sole takes on similar shapes to the AF-1 inspiration, but in this application it’s a lugged tread for sure footing in all conditions.
The Xarr is available now, directly from Nike.
